We require that you create a password that is at least 8 characters long. Note that we will trim off any whitespace (e.g. space characters) at the beginning and end of your password. You are welcome to use spaces within your password.

Outside of that, there aren’t any restrictions on your password except that it can’t be a common password (e.g. 12345678).

Creating Strong Passwords

Want to create a strong password? Try stringing four unrelated words together like “correct horse battery staple”. Believe it or not, that password is hard for computers to guess, but relatively easy for you to remember.

Remembering your Passwords

If you have trouble remembering your passwords, we have a few suggestions for you:

  • Pencil and paper — Yes, if someone breaks into your home or office and finds your notebooks with all your passwords in it, you’re in trouble. But it’s a lot better to write down a hard to guess password on paper than to use a weak password like “sunshine” because you can remember it.
  • Password manager — Far better than keeping a draft of passwords in your email, a text note somewhere on your computer or phone, or a screenshot/image of your passwords is a dedicated password manager. We suggest using 1Password from AgileBits
